About Us

WHO WE ARE

Country Roads Veterinary Service is 100% employee owned and operated. We provide simple, affordable vet care that puts people and their pets first across Southern Maine.

WHAT WE DO

Wellness exams, vaccines, labs, deworming, microchips and more. Click here for full services and fees.

Public clinics are held as fundraising events for selected nonprofit organizations. The nonprofit host receives 100% of the proceeds, minus the wholesale cost of the vaccines. CRVS provides all well‑pet care at these events.

For dogs, we offer the following vaccines:

  • Core vaccines recommended by the AVMA for all dogs: Rabies (1‑ or 3‑year)* and DAPPv (1‑ or 3‑year)*
  • Ancillary vaccines, recommended for some but not all dogs: Lepto4, Bordetella, and Lyme

We also provide laboratory services, including heartworm testing and fecal exams for internal parasites. Vital signs are recorded for every pet. Prescriptions for flea and tick preventatives are available through Chewy’s online pharmacy.

For cats, we offer:

  • Rabies (1‑ or 3‑year)
  • RCP (distemper/upper respiratory disease)
  • Leukemia vaccine (recommended for cats under 4 years old)

As with dogs, routine prescriptions for well pets can be filled through Chewy’s pharmacy.

Private well‑pet clinics are also held for low‑income pet owners. These events are sponsored by organizations that serve these individuals, and details are provided directly to participants by the hosting organization.

Because we operate without the full facilities of a veterinary clinic and with a small staff, we ask that only well‑behaved, healthy pets attend our clinics.
